The Seoul Metropolitan Subway is fast, cheap, clean, and signposted in English.
Get a T-money card
Sold at every convenience store (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven) and station machine for about ₩3,000, then load it with cash. One card can pay for several people if you tap it once per person.
Riding
- Tap the card on the reader at the gate when you enter and when you leave.
- Base fare is about ₩1,400 for the first 10 km.
- Lines are numbered and colour-coded; exits are numbered too — signs list what's near each exit.
Apps
Naver Map or KakaoMap for directions (Google Maps transit is limited in Korea). Both show the fastest transfers and which train car to board.
