Seoul added a Hangang River Bus to its public transport network: a water-bus route running the length of the Han River.
The basics
- Piers run from Magok in the west to Jamsil in the east, with stops including Mangwon, Yeouido, Apgujeong, Oksu, and Ttukseom.
- Boats are a mix of hybrid and fully electric vessels, with big windows and table seating, and wheelchair-accessible boarding.
- New bus routes and bike-share docks at each pier connect it into the wider transit network, so it's built to combine with a T-money journey rather than replace one.
Should you use it?
It's genuinely useful if your route runs along the river — say, between Yeouido and Ttukseom — and it doubles as one of the better low-key ways to see the city from the water without booking a dedicated river cruise. As a way to get somewhere fast, it's usually not the quickest option; the subway will often beat it.
