Backstreet Eats

Where I actually eat

Small, unfussy places off the main streets — the ones I'd take a friend to. Each one has what to order, the Korean address to paste into NAVER Map, and the date I was last there.

The first places are being written up

This is where the restaurants I go back to will live — the kind of place with a handwritten menu and no English sign. Rather than fill it with names off a list, I’m photographing and writing them one at a time.

In the meantime, the food guides cover how eating in Korea actually works.
