Geoje is close enough to Busan for an easy day trip, with a coastline of small islands, cliffs, and beaches that reward having a car.
Highlights
- Windy Hill, a hilltop with a wooden windmill and open views over the coastline — one of the island's most-photographed spots.
- Haegeumgang, a dramatic rocky promontory at Geoje's southern tip, usually seen by boat tour from Gujora Port.
- Oedo Botania, a private island garden with European-style landscaping, also reached by boat from Gujora Port.
- The Geoje POW Camp, a well-preserved Korean War prisoner-of-war camp museum.
Getting there
From Busan, an express bus from Seobu Terminal to Gohyeon Terminal takes about an hour. From Seoul, it's a KTX to Busan (2.5–3 hours) followed by the same connection — a direct bus from Seoul takes 4.5–5 hours.
Getting around
Buses run but are infrequent; a rental car or taxis are the more practical way to reach Geoje's spread-out sights.
